alas-HIS is a hospital management system used across healthcare institutions in Cuba. A hospital system rarely works alone: it has to exchange data with laboratories, equipment and other clinical systems.
My role
At the Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas I developed backend modules for alas-HIS, while also working as an assistant professor.
What the work involved
- HL7 integrations. HL7 is the standard healthcare systems use to exchange clinical and administrative data. I implemented the integrations that let alas-HIS talk to other systems this way.
- Backend development in Java running on Linux environments.
