SITRAN is a custom ERP for Transtur Varadero, a tourism transportation company. It runs the core of the business: the vehicle fleet and the bookings made on it.
My role
I developed SITRAN as a complete project, from the data model to the user-facing features, using Ruby on Rails 2.2 and PostgreSQL.
What the work involved
- Fleet management. Tracking the company’s vehicles and their use.
- Booking systems. Managing reservations for tourism transportation services.
- Complex business logic. Encoding the company’s own rules for how fleet and bookings fit together, which is why an off-the-shelf ERP was not enough.
